A Revitalised Festival for 2026

What a journey it has been since our foundation in 2020.

Our first notes were heard at a fundraising dinner at The Boat Shed, Cotton Tree — a didgeridoo and cello coming together in an arresting performance of Black Swan as the sun set over the Maroochy River. In that moment, framed by the landmarks of Coolum, Ninderry, Old Woman Island and the Maroochy River Valley, we were reminded of how fortunate we are to call this place home.

Since then, SCCMF has presented a wealth of remarkable performances by outstanding artists, including Eric Avery, Karin Schaupp, Alex Raineri, John Bell AO, Simon Tedeschi, Camerata, The Southern Cross Soloists, Orava Quartet, Topology and many more.

A Moment to Reflect

After five consecutive festivals, the SCCMF Board saw 2026 as an opportunity to pause, reflect, and thoughtfully evolve the festival experience.

This year, we return to the source of chamber music — where performances were once shared in homes and intimate settings, bringing audiences closer to the artists and the music itself.

An Intimate Experience

While grand ballrooms may be in short supply on the Sunshine Coast, we are fortunate to once again present this year’s performances in a private penthouse setting at AquaVista, Cotton Tree.

Here, guests are invited to gather, enjoy fine wine and canapés at sunset, take in sweeping Coral Sea views, and experience chamber music as it was always intended — up close, personal, and immersive.

The Sunset Salon Series

In 2026, SCCMF presents three exclusive “Sunset Salon” performances, held across June, August and November.

Each performance features distinguished Australian artists of national and international standing, offering a carefully curated musical experience within a truly unique setting.

A Special Invitation

So this year… slow down the tempo.

Step away from the scale of traditional festivals and join us for three truly special performances, created in the spirit of chamber music.

Our Sunset Salon series is intentionally limited, with seating capped at just 50 guests per performance. These events have sold out quickly in previous years, and early booking is strongly recommended.

We Look Forward to Welcoming You

We look forward to welcoming you to The Penthouse, AquaVista — for coastal chamber music at its very best.
